Third Annual 401 Gives Day

In April of 2020, House of Hope CDC participated in our first annual 401 Gives Day; as the world was shutting down and sheltering in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fast forward and here we are participating in our third 401 Gives Day. Although the COVID-19 pandemic is improving, House of Hope’s clients are still facing a crisis every day – homelessness.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic there has been a 52% increase of individuals living on the streets. Each night, anywhere from 300-400 people are sleeping unsheltered – in their cars, in tents, on park benches – all places not meant for human habitation.
Although funding has been granted for the development of affordable housing in Rhode Island, we are in urgent need of a solution NOW. Too many of our fellow neighbors are experiencing homelessness, and the situation is getting worse. Shelters are filled to capacity and there are currently 542 individuals on the wait list to get into a shelter, in Rhode Island. There are currently 129 households with children on that same wait list.
We need YOUR help now. Join is to raise “22 in 22”! We are aiming to raise $22,000 on 401 Gives Day in 2022. All the funds raised will directly support those clients living on the streets. It will assist House of Hope CDC to provide those clients with lifesaving services, such as food, shelter, showers and assistance with getting into housing.
