Happy 3rd Birthday, Shower to Empower!

On April 18th, Shower to Empower celebrated its 3rd birthday! The first mobile shower truck in New England, Shower to Empower has provided over 3,700 showers, 1,000 haircuts and 800 medical services since its inception. After being grounded for 3 months at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shower to Empower returned to provide dignity to all those experiencing homelessness. None of this would be possible without the support of Team Williams, the City of Providence, and Mayor Jorge Elorza. Now with a new day of services in Pawtucket! Find out more

HYPE – Program Spotlight

Did you know at House of Hope CDC we have a program specifically focused to help youth ages 13 to 24? Honoring Youth Power and Experience, also known as HYPE, supports youth in Rhode Island by building a community well-being and advocating for social justice. Over the last three months, the HYPE team has served 121 youths, 58 of which were 18-21 years old. Of those served, 87% have exited the program to positive destinations.  Find out more about HYPE ››

Lt. Governor Visits House of Hope CDC

On Friday, June 4th we had the privileged of hosting Lt. Governor Sabina Matos for a tour of one of the 30 Pallet Shelters that will be part of ECHO (Emergency COVID Housing Opportunities) Village. She had the opportunity to hear from our great outreach team including our Street Outreach Program Manager, Sara Melucci and Case Manager, Yolanda Enos. Lt. Governor Matos shares in our enthusiasm for the possibilities this emergency temporary housing can bring an end to homelessness in Rhode Island by building a bridge to affordable housing.
